HEALTH SCREENING/HIP GUARANTEE

OFA

We have our dogs OFA rated at the age of two years, before they are bred.  All our Aussies have OFA ratings "GOOD."  We guarantee our puppies' hips against dysplasia.

CERF

Our Aussies' eyes are cleared annually and all puppies are examined by an animal opthalmologist at the age of seven to ten weeks as part of our health screening, so you know what you are getting.

DNA Certified

Our Aussies are DNA typed through ASCA, so all puppies may be DNA Parentage Verified.

All our puppies are vaccinated, dewormed and well socialized.  These, among other things, are measures we take to produce happy, healthy Aussies, always striving to comply with the guidelines of the ASCA Breed Standard.

MDR1 and HC

We have tested for the MDR1 (drug sensitivity) gene mutation and the HC (hereditary cataract) gene mutation.  Results are posted for individuals on our site.  With these tests available, breeders making use of them hope to reduce the incidence of these conditions in future generations.
